We use a wet gas calibrator which produces a gas mixture with a defined ethanol concentration from an aqueous ethanol standard solution.
The calibrator consists of a thermostat unit with a fixed temperature setting, a mixer, a container for the aqueous ethanol solution with air inlet and a connector for the breath-alcohol device.
All parts of this are rigorously controlled with a calculated
uncertainty budget.
